At our farm, we use bleach dip or Virkon between every plant at all stages. This means all tools used for dividing or cutting in any way are dipped in bleach before moving on to the next plant. Virus is part of nature, though, so we do our best while also accepting this fact.

No. We visually inspect our plants over the season, and cull those that look gross. Virus is part of nature. Plants are living things, and the longer a plant is grown out in the world, the more likely it is to harbor a virus. This goes for ALL plants. This is just reality.

We start with heavy amendments to our beds. We use soil conditioners, manure, and compost to prepare our beds, and water soluble fish and kelp fertilizer throughout the season to feed not only our plants, but the soil as well. Plants NEED food to flourish, so we feed them well.

Dahlia tuber orders are pre-sales. This means that orders are shipped a bit after the order is placed (unless you would like early shipping). Orders will ship out as weather conditions rise above freezing, typically late March through April. You will be notified that your order has shipped, and be provided with a tracking number. Any shipping refunds will be issued at that time.

There are so many variables to growing that we do not offer growing information at this time. What works for us in our climate in our garden may not work for others. It is your responsibility to research growing conditions in your area, and see what works for you! That is half the fun. Plants will never stop teaching us.
